CREATE LIBREOFFICE WRITER TEMPLATES Create Page Style
1. Open
a new file in Libreoffice.
2. On
the menu bar, select Format > Styles and Formatting (F11)
3. In
the Styles and Formatting dialog box that appears, select the Styles icon.
4. Right-click
on an empty area, select New.
1. On the Organizer tab, click the text field in the Name and type Page_Contents.
5. Click the Page tab, Select A4 in the Format Options. Then, in the Margins section, specify the margin size: Left: 2.00cm Right: 2.00cm Top: 1.50cm Bottom: 2.00cm
6. Click the Header tab, check the Header On option.
7. Do the same on the Footer tab by checking the Footer On option. Click Apply and OK. Create a List Style
8. In the Styles and Formatting dialog box, click the List Style icon
9. Right-click on an empty area, select New.
2. Click the Numbering Style tab. Select Uppercase Letter A) B) C). Click OK.
3. Click the Options tab. In the After field, type a period (.) and then click OK.
4. Creating a Paragraph Style A. Title
5. In the Styles and Formatting dialog box that appears, select the (Paragraph Style) icon.
6. Right-click on an empty area, select New.
7. The Paragraph Style dialog box will appear. On the Organizer tab, fill in the Name text field with Main_Title.
8. Click the Alignment tab, select Center.
9. Click the Fonts tab. Then: in the Family box select FreeSans in the Style box select Bold in the Size box select 36pt
10. On the Alignment tab make sure the selected Options is Left.
11. Click the Fonts tab. in the Family box select FreeSans in the Style box select Bold in the Size box select 16pt
12. Click Apply and then click OK. Sub-title 2
13. Right-click on an empty area of Paragraph Style, select New.
14. The Paragraph Style dialog box will appear. On the Organizer tab, fill in the Name text field with Sub_title2
15. On the Alignment tab, make sure the Options selected are Left.
16. Click the Font tab in the Family box select FreeSans in the Style box select Bold in the Size box select 12pt
17. Click the Outline & Numbering tab. In the Numbering Style option, select headline2_num. Click Apply then click OK. Sub-title3 35. Right-click on an empty area of Paragraph Style, select New
18. On the Organizer tab, click the text field in the Name and type Sub_title3. 37. Click the Alignment tab, make sure the selected option is Left.
19. Click the Fonts tab. Then: in the Family box, select FreeSans, in the Style box, select Oblique, in the Size box, select 12pt
20. . Click the Font Effects tab. Then in the Underlining option, select Single
21. Click Apply and then click OK. C. Header & Footer Header 41. Right-click on an empty area of Paragraph Style, select New.
22. On the Organizer tab, click the text field in the Name and type header1. Make sure the Linked With option is None. 43. Click the Fonts tab. Then: in the Family box, select FreeSans, in the Style box, select Regular, in the Size box, select 8pt
23. Click the Font Effects tab. In the Effects option select Capitals.
24. Click the Borders tab. Then in the User-defined box, click the bottom gray box. In the Line section, select Style Single, Width 3.25pt, Color Chart 7 In the Spacing to Contents section, set the spacing for Bottom to 0.10cm
25. Click the Alignments tab. Select Right. Click Apply and OK. Footer
26. Right-click on an empty area of Paragraph Style, select New.
27. On the Organizer tab, click the text field in the Name and type footer1. Make sure the Linked With option is None.
28. Click the Fonts tab. Then: in the Family box, select FreeSans, in the Style box, select Regular, in the Size box, select 8pt
29. Click the Tabs tab. In Section Type, select Right. In the field located in Section Position, write 14.50cm. Make sure in Section Fill Character, the selected option is None. Click New
30. Click the Borders tab. Then In the User-defined box, click the top gray box. In the Line section, select Style Single, Width 3.25pt, Color Chart 7 In the Spacing to Contents section, set the spacing for Top to 0.10cm 52. Click Apply and OK.
31. Right-click on an empty area of Paragraph Style, select New.
32. On the Organizer tab, click the text field under Name and type Body.
33. Click the Indents & Spacing tab. In the Indent section, change the First line value to 0.75 and in the Line Spacing section select 1.5 lines
34. Click the Alignment tab. In the Options section, select Justified.
35. Click the Fonts Tab. Then: in the Family box, select FreeSans, in the Style box, select Regular, in the Size box, select 12pt
36. Click OK.
37. Click New Style from Selection
38. Click Body.
39. Rename Body to Body_with_num. Click OK. 62. Click the Outline & Numbering tab. On the Numbering Style menu, select Step_num. 63. Click OK
40. Right click on the Style with the name Sub_title1, select Modify.
41. On the Organizer tab, click the Drop Down list of Next Styles and select Sub_title2.
42. Check the AutoUpdate option.
43. Click OK.
44. Do the same for the Sub_title2 style. Right click on the Style with the name Sub_title2, select Modify.
45. On the Organizer tab, click the Drop Down list of Next Style and select Sub_title3.
46. Check the AutoUpdate option next to the Name field.
47. Click OK. 72. Right click on the Style with the name Sub_title3, select Modify.
48. On the Organizer tab, click the Drop Down list of Next Styles and select Body.
49. Check the AutoUpdate option next to the Name field.
50. Click OK.
51. Place the cursor in the header area, double-click the style with the name header1 in the Styles and Formatting dialog box.
52. On the menu bar select Insert > Field > Others (Ctrl+F2)
53. Click the Functions tab. In the Type box, select Input field. Click Insert
54. In the dialog box, type [Write title here]. Click OK. 80. Close the Fields dialog box. B. Footer 81. Place the cursor in the Footer area, double click on the style with the name footer1.
55. On the menu bar select Insert > Field > Others (Ctrl+F2)
56. Click the Functions tab. In the Type box, select Input field. Click Insert.
57. Type [Initial_name] in the 2nd field box.
58. Close the Fields dialog box.
59. Place the cursor behind the [Initial name] field, click the Tab key. Type the word Pages{space].
60. On the menu bar, select Insert > Fields > Page Number
61. Place the cursor in the footer again, this time typing the word [space]from[space].
62. On the menu bar, select Insert > Fields > Page Count. Saving Templates
63. On the menu bar, click File and then select Templates
64. On the sub-menu in Templates, select Save.
65. The Templates dialog box will appear. In the Categories Section, select My Templates. Enter with the desired name.
66. Click OK.
